How long have you been at Straus? ¿Cuánto tiempo llevas en Straus?
In 2023, I reached my 10th year at Straus Family Creamery!
How did you get here? What did you do before? ¿Cómo llegaste hasta aquí? ¿Qué hacías antes?
Prior to coming to Straus Family Creamery, I worked at a statistical consulting firm for more than 14 years. My company moved out of state, and to stay in California, I was forced to make a change. While the industry was a big change for me, I consider myself fortunate to have found Straus! I have grown and learned so much about our food systems, sustainable practices, impact on our environment, and the responsibility we have as a community to be more involved. I have been very lucky to find amazing teams to join and be a part of – and this is one of my favorite teams for sure!
What is your favorite Straus product? ¿Cuál es tu producto favorito de Straus?
This is a hard one for me! Amongst my favorites – our chocolate milk, sour cream, and who can resist our delicious ice cream! Although I have a few favorite ice cream flavors, nothing beats our creamy and luscious vanilla ice cream topped on a freshly baked and warm peach cobbler or steaming hot apple pie. (Which I bake with our delicious butter of course!)
What do you like about working at Straus? ¿Qué es lo te gusta de trabajar en Straus?
Our team and being myself! While I enjoy the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that vary in my every day – no two days are ever the same here for sure – I appreciate and truly love our team! The culture, kindness, and shared love and passion for our mission and who we are as a team bring us together from all levels of the company. Meaningful and beautiful friendships have flourished through the years, warmed my heart and soul, and will continue to make me feel even more connected to my job, my work family, and what I love about my every day here. Although we all come from different walks of life, and bring knowledge and experience of different sorts, I have never worked at a place where I feel so valued and appreciated for my ideas, my contributions, and my desire to build and embrace meaningful connection and camaraderie for our team.
What do you do in your free time? ¿Qué haces en tu tiempo libre?
My family is of the most importance and priority to me, so I am grateful for the life-work balance I have been able to attain. I prioritize my time with them first and foremost and feel grateful to have my kids and loving family in my life. I love spending time with my family, extended family, and amazing people I have connected with throughout my life, and feel absolutely lucky to be surrounded by them. I love seeing new places, writing, music - most things artistic, traveling, trying new foods, and enjoying the colorful flavors life has to offer – who better to enjoy those with than the people we love.
