Organic Lowfat Plain Kefir

Crafted with pure, simple ingredients, and minimally processed. No gums, thickeners, stabilizers, artificial colors, or natural flavors are ever used in our kefir.

Straus Family Creamery Organic Lowfat Plain Kefir is a cultured milk beverage similar to yogurt but with a drinkable consistency and more tangy taste. Straus Kefir features 11 different beneficial live and active cultures. With quality protein, our organic kefir is considered a good source of protein and high in calcium (20 percent of the recommended daily value). This nutritious fermented milk is also low in fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium.

The plain kefir is unsweetened with no added sugars.

Deliciously creamy and tart, it starts with a slow fermentation of our whole and nonfat milk, which are blended together to create a creamy lowfat milk. Similar to Straus Organic Yogurts, it is vat-set and incubated just long enough to create a clean, balanced, and perfectly tart cultured flavor.

Delicious on its own. Or a healthy addition to granola and smoothies, a delicious morning drink, or a midday snack, kefir is also a versatile ingredient. Use it in place of buttermilk to add rich texture and a tangy flavor or as a flavor boost in dressings and marinades.
